20131028 – Monday – Corfu, Greece

Corfu Town is the capital of Corfu Island and is blessed by having two, not one but two fortresses built by the Venetians about a kilometre apart built of course on the highest hills with the town wedged between them. Of course we climbed them both! The town is beautiful with Venetian inspired architecture. We happened to be there on Liberation Day which celebrated the liberation of the island in 1944 from the Nazis and the Italians. There were marching bands and a parade to entertain us. This is where I bought my Armani and Dolce & Gabbana belts. Never thought I would own anything so upscale and they must be the real thing – they cost 5 Euro (for the two)! By this time we had earned a scenic beer at a sidewalk cafe.

Corfu Town es la capital de la isla de Corfú y es bendecido por tener dos, no uno, sino dos fortalezas construidas por los venecianos, a un kilómetro de separación construido por supuesto, en las colinas más altas con la ciudad situada entre ellos. Por supuesto, nos subimos a los dos! La ciudad es preciosa, con arquitectura de inspiración veneciana. Nos pasó a estar allí el día de la liberación, que celebra la liberación de la isla en 1944 de los nazis y los italianos. Había bandas de música y un desfile para entretenernos. Aquí es donde compré mi Armani y Dolce & Gabbana cinturones. Nunca pensé que iba a tener algo tan exclusivo y deben ser la cosa real - que cuestan 5 euros (para los dos)! Por esta vez nos habíamos ganado una cerveza escénica en un café.

Місто Корфу знаходиться в столиці острова Корфу і благословив при наявності двох, а не одного, а двох фортець побудована венеціанцями приблизно в кілометрі один від одного побудували, звичайно, на найвищих пагорбів з містом вклинюється між ними.
